About Us
Hello - Steve and Marilyn Hunter here. Steve is a McCook native and Marilyn migrated North from Kansas and became a true (Go Big Red) Nebraskan. Steve sells products on Amazon and also works part-time at the McCook Fastenal store. Marilyn is a Postmaster who retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2015. She is the "head critter sitter" in the business.
We are two lucky people that found each other and have been married now for over 30 years. No kids, it just wasn't in the cards, but we have had our share of pets over that time. Dogs: Lady, Shane, Sunny and Abby who all lived into their teens. Cats: Mayo, Checkerberry, OC, Hannah and Emma. Currently we are without a dog for the first time in our lives and Emma the cat runs the show now.
We have always loved animals and most all of our pets were pound puppys or cats that either adopted us or were rescued off the street. McCook Critter Sitters was started in part because after our last dog Abby got old she was uncomfortable in the kennel and we thought an in home sitter would have been great for her. So, thanks Abby. You inspired us to start a business.
